American Graffiti

Friday 18th May | 6:30pm | £7

The iconic American classic, directed by George Lucas, features the coming of age of four teenagers on their last summer night before college. Rediscover drag racing, drive-ins and Inspiration Point in this nostalgic look back at the early 60s that also brings you an incredible soundtrack with the most memorable rock n roll tracks of the era. Starring Harrison Ford, Richard Dreyfuss and Ron Howard.

The rooftop will be transformed into a wonderland of early 60s Americana, including rollerskating waitresses, diner style food and Midsummer DJs soundtracking your evening with music inspired by the film.

Empire Records

Friday 22nd June | 6:30pm | £7

Empire Records is going to be turned into a corporate chain, and it's up to the wacky employees to figure out a way to raise enough money to keep the store from changing hands. This 1990s comedy about an eventful day in the lives of the store's young slackers and dreamers has become a cult favourite, as they deal with love, life, and a has-been spoiled rock star named Rex Manning.

We're kicking off the party with our very own rooftop record fair, in association with local record labels. The night will be 90s themed, so dig out your grunge-era plaid and oversized shirts. Featuring the alt-rock and pop hits from the film's classic 90s soundtrack.

Lost In Translation

Friday 20th July | 6:30pm | £7

Bob Harris (Bill Murray) is an American film actor, far past his prime. He visits Tokyo to appear in a commercial for Suntory whiskey, and meets Charlotte (Scarlett Johanssen), the beautiful and bored young wife of a visiting photographer. Director Sofia Coppola offers a story of love and friendship blooming under unlikely circumstances in this sweet, melancholy film, featuring a dreamy soundtrack by Kevin Shields of My Bloody Valentine.

We're planning an evening inspired by Sofia Coppola's hazy, dream-world interpretation of Tokyo at night, with music by Phoenix and My Bloody Valentine and a well-stocked bar providing the fuel for your own serendipitous meetings. Scarlett's infamous pink wig is sure to make an appearance. All we need now is our very own Bill Murray…

The Graduate

Friday 31st August | 6:30pm | £7

Benjamin Braddock is a little worried about his future. Dustin Hoffman plays a disillusioned university graduate with no well-defined aim in life who is seduced by an older woman, Mrs. Robinson - only to fall in love with her daughter, Elaine. Featuring a haunting score by Simon & Garfunkel, The Graduate is a ground-breaking and influential film that captured the rebellious spirit of the 1960s, and resonates still today with our own worries in the face of an uncertain future.

"Mrs Robinson, are you trying to seduce me"? Our screenings conclude with Mike Nichols' 1967 cult classic, and we'll serenade you with a 60s folk soundtrack as summer retreats for another year. Come dressed for a preppy East Coast pool party and pick up a bourbon, scotch or cocktail with your own Miss (or Mrs Robinson).
